We welcome financial contributions that sustain independent research and publication, sustain and archive community histories, develop documentary and educational resources, strengthen intergenerational cultural transmission, and build long-term cultural infrastructure for the national Samba network.

Our Board
Umbela Brasil operates as a community-led organisation where our members form the Board of Directors. The Board is made up of four cross-cultural community elders and one emerging leader, who is mentored into governance and leadership through practice
Associate Members
Our associate members are the thousands of artists, educators, schools, and community members we collaborate with across Australia and internationally. This includes partner schools who work with us on educational initiatives, cultural exchange, and community-led learning.

Associate membership is intentionally accessible to academies and schools that teach Samba. The annual fee is $1, and this can be contributed pro bono through sharing skills, collaborating, teaching, learning, documenting, or participating in Umbela’s mission. Contribution is measured in relationship, care, and practice.
